Never seen a fence post come with instructions boss.

With all due respect @Parm , it's a fence, even at 40 cms you've got to give it some wellie to have it fall on you. I appreciate your trade and training, but are you over thinking this ? It's only 1.2 meters tall, 60 to 80 cms deep is 50% to 80% footings. Big love x

In a private garden i would say its fine, but as parm says, if there is public access then its not a bad idea to get checked out

the depth can only be determined by how solid the ground is and has it been disturbed .18 inch in solid ground is well sufficient for 6 foot high solid pannel fences

Question, how deep to suggest they set the uprights? I imagine into concrete as they will be in an unpaved area of the garden

400-600mm deep hole about 100/150 square (like a fencepost). Bit of gravel at the bottom and a thin layer of postcrete to seal the end. Install the upright, postcrete.

Alternatively they may wish to simply drive the uprights in in which case they would need to be spiked and finned. For bonus points, you could design a ground spike as a two part fixing system which you attach the panels to later. If they spike it it will depend entirely on ground conditions how far it is possible to drive in and how long the steel will last.
