Looking good. Is that straight from the supplied dxf? I mean you’ve not scaled it? Not cut mine yet
After the first false start and the day approaching I thought I'd better get started on the second attempt...
Very glad that I'm using 1.6mm steel, can only imagine what it might be like using something thicker - or stainless in the case of @northwest !
I can tell you right now, even with the help of my pal who is a very talented tinbasher it is proving a challenge. Stainless is not very forgiving. Will update with my attempt later in the week.

Spent ALL afternoon getting no further round than the nose area; was all for abandoning it for a while until I had an epiphany and it kinda fellinto place. It is far from correct and the face will be asymmetrical - but aren't we all!
@northwest what grade thickness and finish is the SS
It is Laser quality 304 stainless 2mm thick. Not very forgiving.
Looking good. What would you do differently next time?
I’d love to know where you even start designing one of these....
I get the impression he’s a Cardboard Aided Design man
And I'm done (I hope...) with the MIG welding. Gas bottle just about empty too...
The ears kinda fell into place once I'd worked out which way to bend the two extraneous parts that remained after yesterday but are slightly asymmetrical.

The forward facing piece didn't fit into the 'socket' and sat more atop the head than in it so it will look 'interesting' once ground back...

@Hood Was generous enough to spare the time to cut enough parts for three heads and I've used a few parts from the second set... would I make the third? At this time, I don't honestly know. Making this one for Mrs Tangledfeet's Christmas present has been emotional at times. She knows I'm making something for her as I've told her to bang on the door and wait to be allowed permission to enter the workshop if I'm in there... she may have the slightest inkling as to what it might be.
@Shox Dr I'm still pondering your question from yesterday. Delisle's single YouTube video on it ism't much help whereas the trilogy Gary Huston is far more useful; they also show two different approaches. The former starts the long, forked piece at the front - the latter at the back of the head.
Also, not sure whether making at a smaller scale has been much of an advantage!
