Popped into an old style hardware shop a few buildings down and asked for some 4x45s
Both me and the chap behind the till struggled. The owner nailed the imp conversion and pulled a box out.
Never worked in Imperial. Means nothing to me.
I'm completely bisexual with Metric/Imperial
The one which truly pees me off is decimal inch, or whatever its name.
Me too but recently I watched a video where a guy was working in tenths of a foot
At work if you want to make tolerences sound better make sure to use thou not 0.01
Pipe sizes are an odd one though... I have to get the chart up to check I've got the right stuff. As a plumber we only had one size screw, 2" 10.
I was with some engineers this week, measuring things in cm instead of mm, and struggling with steel pipe sizes
cm I'll leave to the kitchen fitters and dressmakers
As a man who's spent 3 days fitting a kitchen I can confirm I work down to 0.5 mm
I got caught out on that a couple of weeks ago with parcel force , couldn't understand why it kept saying my parcel was to long " try another courier "As a man who's spent 3 days fitting a kitchen I can confirm I work down to 0.5 mm
What catches me out is DPD/parcelforce etc.
I end up trying to book parcels
