From the diagram that was helpfully supplied in Post #1 of this thread, your machine seems to be in an odd situation where the 24v AC that fails to close the main contactor and enable the arc, and fails to run the wirefeed motor, still somehow manages to operate the gas valve... That implies a fault, or maybe two faults, in the circuitry on the printed circuit board ...?
I would start by confirming that the auxiliary transformer is indeed outputting 24v AC.
Then locate the main contactor and check if it can be activated manually by a button in the centre of the top.
