You don't need a big press or hammer.
Pressure = force x time so you could just put a brick on top the phone and leave it for a week.
Or half a brick for 2 weeks.
Alternatively you could try clicking the "share" icon which looks a bit like a tree with only 2 branches.
Choose email and it will ask you if you want to compress the video. Choose the size then just email it to yourself.

No software apart from normal windows word etc..
Its too big for her to compress and email from what she said
But the u tube idea should work

Convert the video to a lower quality mp4
Then archive it as a zip before sending.

Download it onto huge tube and get them to view it from there

youtube will compress it all for you, and give a nice easy way to watch it / skip through it etc. without having to download the whole thing
it can be uploaded as private, so only people you send the link to can view it
(and anyone they send the link to etc.)

I've had the same problem with dashcam footage, never managed to upload it to anywhere easily.

Well, I'm giving the Tube a try - it tells me it'd be 1hr 7 mins to finish u/loading a clip from the dashcam, which iirc overwrites every 5 minutes. There has to be a better way to do this, surely, without getting involved in extra programmes off the 'net etc??

John it all happens a lot quicker if you are not using up all your gigagiblets elsewhere, save uploading files to when the pooter is not doing anything else.

go here (when you're not doing anything.uploading) https://www.speedtest.net/ and it'll tel you how fast your internet is going
chances are... you just have fairly big files and slow dsl?... if you do the best thing to do it just leave it going overnight :-)
(p.s. I'm assuming you're wired not wireless?)
