Hello, another new member here.
The name’s Glyn and I’ve been lurking on and off around the forums for probably almost a year now.
At the moment I’ve only limited experience with MIG Welding (Playing around on waste steel while a mate rebuilt an MGB) but the time has come to change that.
I’ve a ’93 MR2 that is worth nothing to anyone other than me. It has had professional welding done to restore the sills and wheel arches, but at a price that I cannot afford to repeat (and greater than the value of the car). So, I hope to learn enough the keep the other bits in check myself when they need attention.
I’ve no rush as at the moment the car is solid (I hope), but I think now is the time to start learning on other stuff before thinking of turning a torch towards the car.
Also, while I know this is my first post, I’d like to say a big thank you to all the people behind this web site and the various advice and guides on it! Its been an invaluable source of information so far as I try to learn how to get started.
Now I need to make a decision on a welder. I’ll post that question in the “Buying a Welder” section and would appreciate peoples’ advice if you’ve got a minute!
Thanks in advance!
Glyn
