i am looking for a good quality pick up battery are they any people would recommend. i have had varta and bocsh. the one i have is 12v 105ah.

Gone from selling mostly Bosch batterys to Yuasa.

Not had a warranty claim with a Yuasa battery as yet - was getting too many Blue Bosch batterys failing.

Yuasa in the Caterham a few years ago, something else in the Dodge last year.

Have a look on Tayna website but don't immediately select the one they recommend. Make sure you click the "Show me all XYZ batteries". Generally if you scroll down the list you'll find a decent brand with a higher rating for not much more money. The last few batteries I've bought have been Exide as they had the best price/spec compromise

Last battery I bought was Varta, quite a bit cheaper than my usual choice, Bosch. I gave up on Yuasa batteries as they kept failing on the motorbike, cheap Motobatt batteries where more reliable.

Yuasa for me. I had one replaced foc just a few weeks shy of the end of their 5 year warranty.

I think Bosch and Varta are the same (made by Varta) don’t think Bosch make batteries.

But if you want the rolls Royce of car batteries I would suggest oddesy. They also make batteries for the military

How long are folk generally getting with car batteries. My Ranger is 7 and still on the original battery.
The last battery I bought was a Varta for my old L200, always thought they were a quality battery

Just fitted a Bosch Silver to a vauxhall mokka that is 9 years old and was on its original battery. I also have a skoda citigo that is also 9 years old, still on its original battery and going strong. Both cars have over 100,000 miles on them, so no complaints.

Conversely I also have a Yamaha Xt1200 which is 6 years old and the battery (Yuasa) is starting to sound a bit weak.

Always found,the battery that was fitted by the vehicle manufacturer lasted the longest,can it be that ageing in the rest of the system causes subsequent batteries to fail earlier?
Also I think motor bike batteries have a shorter life,owing to a more compact installation arrangement and less mass to absorb jolts and vibration.
