One of my impulse buys but I find it excellent

The brother label printer prints heat shrink tubing and also clear filament with black or white text

Excellent for cable management and printing custom name plates (re did fathers boat cockpit with white on clear looked like was etched on)

I have one of those at work. Its very good except you have to waste 15mm of tape every time you print a label. Its ridiculous!

Yes I agree, that's why I try and print a long list items in each print that way less waste, plus print multiple copies

I am wiring up my lather and mill, so VFD setup is same, I printed multiple of them and that way only had waste 15mm once

Used one a few years back when I was retrofitting a new control on my CNC lathe, worked great.

This might be the way to go on the thin wires, heat shrink it onto the bootlace ferrule end and that will stop it slipping. Below is on 0.9mm OD wire.

I think I need a new toy

Sound system is due an upgrade and few modifications and this chap will come in handy to manage the multiple cable runs with labels at each end

Hard get one that does both heat shrink and clear labels. I use it for pretty much heat shrink and clear

Been able make it look semi pro helps

Plus in week when I forgot how I wired everything I can just pop leads back into the correct terminal

The clear labels also work well, did the labels for the warning lights, came out good with the borders, almost looks original.

I have one too, well, I got work to buy it for me so its sort of mine. It does get used for work but done its fair share of home printing. The printed heat shrink is fab.

It also does cable wrap, the tape is half clear and half coloured so you can print a label and then wrap it round cables

I've usually got the genuine Brother label cassettes but ran out and needed 1 in a hurry so the pictures below are from cheap Chinese copies from Amazon

I didn't even open that thread because the title said 'Shrinkwrap,' so I envisioned a big commercial pallet wrapping machine using shrink wrap with custom-printed logos and the like.

This thread was about labelled heatshrink, so I was interested.

A rose by any other name?

Now, who has one near me and can lend it out?

I've had a Brother handheld printer for a while, and the printed heatshrink is good, however the amount of wasteage does annoy me.
Although since buying the cartridges from AliExpress, it's at least a lot cheaper.

I've got the Brother printer for electricians, had it about 20 years.
I think it is not made anymore
I just print a normal narrow label stick it to the cable then slide a piece of clear heatshrink over it which I then heat and shrink.
Never had any trouble with the labels.
I bought aftermarket labels but they didnt work that well till i found a brand on kine which are almost as good as the oe ones

i must check them out

only issue i had was battery doesn't work from new, charged it up last night and battery was hot.

must see if china have a cheap batt replacement

Thats exactly what i do also,

for money i was not able find another printer that did both clean and heat shrink options

I used to print out a bunch of labels in one single strip, and then cut them by hand (assuming the excessive lead in and out is what you mean?)

If it's all the cartridge waste, that's another issue.

After reading a few reviews I went for the Pristar, it’s compatible with all the other knock off shrink tube marker tapes. Also fits snug in the same case as the other printer.
Just need to learn how to drive it
