I label everything now because I can’t remember where I put stuff otherwise

I’ve the Brother e550 printer and a selection of Aliexpress cartridges - they even do satin ribbons that are good for present wrapping.

The phone app is good too, you can type, save and create sequenced labels and connect to the labeller to print them.

I have not tried the app yet. Must do that.

Used one a few years back when I was retrofitting a new control on my CNC lathe, worked great.

This might be the way to go on the thin wires, heat shrink it onto the bootlace ferrule end and that will stop it slipping. Below is on 0.9mm OD wire.

‘CartridgeKing Store’ on AliExpress.

They also do the printable heatshrink in various sizes and colours.

Here are a few pics I have just taken of mine. 6 years on the labels are still perfect and the majority of the heatshrink was eBay knockoff.

The black or white in clear lables are particularly interesting for me.

I think most white or yellow etc lables look a bit naff as a personal preference. For example, black text on a clear label on the edges of grey shelves is going to look alot tidier IMO. Or white text on clear label on black roll cab drawer edges will look tidy too.

I used to print out a bunch of labels in one single strip, and then cut them by hand (assuming the excessive lead in and out is what you mean?)

That's what I do as well, but it's annoying when you only need one or two labels/heatshrinks.
I've seen me with more waste than useable prints at times.

OK, so having got another 'toy' and wanting to have every possible variation know, label and shrink tube, and the best way to buy is in 10's from AliExpress.
What do you keep all the cassettes in?

You now have to buy the bespoke wall cabinet to properly store the bespoke label printer.
I'm only jealous because I don't do enough wiring to warrant one. I'll just have to stick with my bit of masking tape folded over the wire.

I keep the blank waste pieces in a poly bag, they come in handy to write on with a fine permanent marker for odd relabelling jobs.

Ill be waiting for the review from you or @8ob - the £100 one is expensive enough to put me off, but i could handle £17 once it was confirmed good! : )
