A solid centre set in the spindle is a live centre. In the tailstock it doesn't turn so it's a dead centre. The ones you fit in the tailstock that turn on bearings - those are revolving centres.
No. Don't need a reducer now. All sorted. All I got to do next is take my tailstock to a machine shop and get them to bore/drill it out and have a new quill made for mt2. There is plenty of material in the casting.so are u after a reducer from no 3 to number 2 mt reducer sleeve and a no2 centre
