I liked the 666 with the bean can head tube, and have been looking for another one to build again.Had loads of DMR’s broke three shooters from trials and jumping
I worked at a cycle shop as a Saturday boy got to ride all the expensive bikes from sponsorship and loved it there
Had a gorgeous identity Dr Jekyll
The one I am looking at pete is 48x36.
Carbon technology has moved miles in 10-15 years.
I rode my Cannondale Super6 Evo hard for two years weighing 17 stone and it’s perfect.
I had worried about that before, a knock that would dent an alu frame might wreck a carbon one but I'll worry about that when it breaks. It's only a carbon front anyway, alu swingarm.A thought is the old bearing race in the frame ok to reuse with fresh bearings. Thats what i would most likely do. Give it good polish first.
Thought no2. Carbon Fibre? burnt toast and glue I've never fancied a carbon bike. I saw one fail years ago.
Ok a home made recumbent frame, the guy had toured and raced it, we had just hit 50mph down a big hill. He stopped, clipped into a pedal and CLICK! the frame shattered into a million bits and he just had the bottom bracket attached to his foot. Amazing how it went. Luckily is was after stopping.
I imagine carbon frames are sorted now but that image never goes away.
I had a DMR drone (I think) a few years ago. Single speed 24" wheels so it was basically a big BMX, awesome bike. The chainring was worn out so it kept snapping chains and the cranks rusted solid so I couldn't change it. I spent a night in A&E once after it snapped while I wasn't wearing a helmet, immediately over the bars, head smacked the floor inches from the curb (Could have been much worseDo miss my old DMR jump bike.
Oh my god, I totally missed that! Just taken it out the bin and you're absolutely right, some tit had fitted the bloody thing upside down. Now you've got the old bearing out, you might want to put the new one in the correct way up.
I was more 20-60 miles XC. I used to import Boulder Bikes
The Green Defiant I bought in 89/90, replacing a Proflex 956. I became the European importer in 93. The Starship LT was bought as a demo in 98ish, liked it so much I kept it. My mate still owns the Defiant.
I rode the Starship yesterday, though I haven’t been off road in 15yrs

Nice ! Proper bikes. Proflex .... there’s a few memories. The other interesting one at the time was AMP research with a parallel link front end.
Anyway maybe we should start a bike thread. Ive got a Cove hard tail at the moment. Far fewer moving parts and resin to worry about !
People say they’re unfeeling, I think they’re amazing
What's so good about these special greases? It seems Judy Butter is now called Sram Butter, a one ounce pot costs nearly a tenner! I only bought it to get me over a free postage threshold and even then I was reluctant.

I've got a litre of Rockshox suspension fluid too, I was planning on servicing the Rockshox Recon forks on my old bike at some point, I assume using it in Fox forks is a big no?![]()
