follow the line it should go to the next cap and be negative

the second board not so easy, you may need to put it all back together power it up and being very careful with it being live test the 2 connections of the missing cap for polarity using a multimeter

So I take it these negative lines mean that the strand comin out of it is negative I know it sounds completely stupid but I just wanna be sure thanks

Going by what Snooper said, you want it the other way round to the existing one.

yeah that existing capacitor is linked to the other just follow that negative down to the other and as maker said should be the opposite way round

just make sure you set the meter to DC and make sure the voltage range at least equals the voltage on the capacitor

On the board iv seen afew positive symbols on other caps on opposite side to negative now does this look like a worn posative sign

it could only be a misprint as there would be nothing to wear it, you could remove another cap from the same board (noting which way round it goes ) and look for markings the same
