Harrison M300 Electrical Fault

Hi Folks, my Harrison M300 won’t go. I was using it, stopped to change over the job and now no power. Breaker not tripped, has this 5amp fuse in a breaker housing looked okay bit changed it for a 13amp (all I had) but still nothing. The Dro doesn’t have power so no power to the main circuit by the looks. Three phase run by a rotary converter. Any ideas of things to check or anyone know someone around Aberdeen who could have a look at her?

Is the nut which holds the side panel on tight? There's a limit switch under the casing which cuts the power if it is loosened.
Foot E stop not activated? Chuck guard limit switch?

Have you put a meter on the rotary converter to check voltage phase to phase? You may have dropped a phase or capacitor.

Thanks. Not checked the foot break. These wouldn’t cut power to the DRO though would they? I did move the chuck guard.

Thanks. I was still driving the pedestal drill, I’ll check if the milling machine works, similar size to the lathe.

Thanks. Not checked the foot break. These wouldn’t cut power to the DRO though would they? I did move the chuck guard.

Depends where the power has been taken from for the DRO.

Exactly. if you're taking the single phase power for the dro from a phase and neutral and that's the phase that has dropped the dro won't work.

If the drill is working it doesn't sound like the power supply.

Open the control panel for the machine and see how they've wired the e-stops / lockouts.

Micro switches do fail without much notice. Found that on the bandsaw at work.
Oh and it blew a fuse which was a bit of a red herring at first.

Did one 18 months ago was a Harrison think a 300 was safety SW in end of machine cant remember which one funnily that was one on a rotary converter as well
Stopped the main contacter machine was dead, think I pushed contacter with screwdriver to isolate fault.
There was a circuit on cover

Thanks guys. Electrics aren't my thing. Will a continuity test be what is needed at the switches?

Rs components is usually a good place to start.

prove if its convertor or machine first. If its the machine, do you have a wiring diagram? Cant imagine its that complicated. A few limit switches and a couple of relays maybe! Limit switches are easily bypassed to prove or disprove them,or easily tested with a meter.

Yeah will do tonight. There's a diagram inside the door for the circuitry. Never thought of bypassing them. My guess now is it's most likely the lathe chuck limit switch I was changing over to another job before the no power. Would the switches be 400 or 240v?

Yeah, pull it back where it needs to be with a pliers. Failing that as someone else said emergency stop red bar by your toes

I think the control circuit on them is 110v

Post up a close up picture of the wiring diagram. Sure we can point you at something to fiddle with

If your harrison is wired like this the common factor is Circuit breaker 3 that drives the controls and DRO . Hope that helps.

It's got two circuit breakers, one is a MCB type and the other a 5amp fuse carrier. I'd not see the fuse carrier type before, fuse goes in on a angle which I thought was odd. Similar to pic.
