Hi all,
As I've posted previously I bought a Harrison L5 a while back and whilst it hasn't had a huge amount of use, I want to use it now to make some new handles for my Clarke (read Sealey!) Pillar drill.
I've noticed however that the 3-jaw chuck I'm using is not gripping properly. Difficult to describe but it seems to grip deep inside before the outside. Does that make any sense? It's like the jaws have a very, very slight taper. Now I suspect this is probably quite normal on a badly worn (or mis-treated) chuck but I'm wondering what my options are. Can they be repaired? Do I need to replace it? Can I even get one?
It really only gets occasional 'hobby' use but I would like it to grip properly when I do use it!
Please help
Richard.
P.S. Going in for my tea now, will look back in, in the morning.
