Well now there you are wrong. The zS was indeed a modified civic shell - probably one of the longest production designs ever - mini and beetle aside, but the engine and box were 100% British.
The ZT was a British design that pinched some BMW obsolete bits - brakes, fuel pump come to mind. The engine was the same British v6, unless you got an oilburner, in which case it was a BMW...
