It’s not the best of stuff even in best conditions. Too much solvent in order to get a thick coat.

It is a pain in this weather, takes an age to dry.
Even worse if the underlying coats are still not 100% dry.

are you calling that zinc 182 etch primer? if so not what id use

if its giving you grief remove it and start again with something else and make sure its warm environment and not too thick of coats
The right side is Matt. The left side is Glossy...we have taken it all of the right side. Heated the panel and leaving the heater on over night under the other side. Also stood the primer in a tub of boiled water.
But will also get some upol in case it does not go off.

if it doesn't go off the next day and is still tacky after being heated remove it. i once had the same problem

The biggest problem is temperature when painting this time of year! Even a different brand would probably struggle to cure also

Not as we are using cans.
Update....the halfords primer went on fine on the side we heated.
The opposite side cured as we left the heat on all day. Flatted it back and used Spraywell grey primer which covered way less but enabled very thin coats and dryer very quickly.....could not get upol. My son is doing the engine bay upper shock mounts etc with Nardo Gray which is identical to grey primer but with a gloss. But it's gone on great.....will update tommorow.
Ok another update for those interested.
Heating the garage has helped immensely. Especially moving the heater under the side we were working on. As hot air rises.
The halfords stuff is way thicker than Spraywell high build. But the Spraywell is easier to put on in thin coats.
The hot air gun helped to speed things up and it meant we got one side finished last night.
