Well, arsenic is the colourant. Many people died, or were invalided due to arsenic poisoning in their own living roome. That were decorated with Wm. Morris wallpaper. That leached arsenic into the air.

Mentioning railways thes a small line in Chinnor that does a 3 or 4 mile trip. They do a good Christmas special with mince pies and stuff.

My favourite memory of Tring was having lunch in the cafe, it was a sandwich, a cream cake and a doughnut. It was the school holidays and there were lots of nice middle class mums there with their children. I heard one child whine to its parent about not being allowed a cream cake and a doughnut when I was allowed to. I was probably in my mid 40s at the time.
theres a documentary about it , gets repeated every once in a while , probably on you tube too.I did not so long ago.

After wearing safety shoes since some time at school, I feel naked without them anywhere DIY, gardening, work related and have to go find them.
Even got a steel toed pair of cowboy boots just to annoy managers, team leaders and especially new H&S types at work - a kick of the nearest steel object soon stops the "you can't wear those there . . ."

One Texan had the plastic hat, boots and the works. Even had a mullet and chewed baccy. He was a caricature of a Texan oil man!
The thing to get on that job was the wide brim hard hat with the full collection of drilling company stickers on it!

In the 80's a Ford maintenance guy managed to trap himself by driving a robot into him, the robot was in manual mode and the guy had moved the joystick on the teach pendant to move the robot. Ford approached ASEA and asked them to provide software to prevent this happening again, how do you write software to prevent someone driving a robot into themselves?

My sister and I were taken by dad in about 1978.Grandparents were farmers at Buckland. Google streetview shows the farmhouse and yard don't look much different to back then. Good memories.

Luckily most places I worked in the US didn't need one - thinking about it, they probably would now.Mine are DoubleH - even USA made! Haven't picked up a reasonably priced pair of boots in the US for a long time that weren't made in China.
About only thing I still have is a Lockheed Martin Joint Strike Fighter shirt - to be worn to out do contractors wearing their BAE shirts when they come into our drawing office

Only certain machines, circ saw, band saw definitely, I don’t think the mill / drill is one of them though. BS4163:2014
