The nozzle fitment looks wrong.
There should be a spring in the back to hold the air jet firmly in place. The only thing that goes wrong with the 'witches hat' air jet is wear from the incoming grit, which makes a dimple in the side. With the nozzle removed confirm that you have loads of air from the jet and that the jet is in the middle of where the nozzle would be ie concentric.
Offer up the nozzle without the nut, there should be around 1/2" of clearance to get the grit picked up by the airflow and the flange of the nut should seal against the gun body so all the air goes down the nozzle.
In the case of your gun the air jet (witches hat) is no more than 2mm so your road comp is ott, 18cfm ran the one I had which was the same gun as yours in a plastic Jet stream cabinet.
