Gtech vacuum cleaners

we're looking for a new vacuum cleaner and a hand held one too. Anyone bought the new Gtech ones? If so how do you rate it?

I'd never heard of them, but just checked my Which? subscription and it says;

Good but pricey 64%
PROS
Good on laminate and carpet, lengthy run time, good for pet hair
CONS
Terrible for floorboards, very noisy

FYI, for cordless vacuums, they put the following above the Gtech (which scored 64%);

We have the Gtech.
As a guy who isn't a housework type person.... I rate it very highly. I wouldn't say that it's any noisier than than our Henry or the crappo dyson we used to have. We have the handheld jobbie too which is pretty cool. So impressed that we also bought the cordless garden strimmer which was on offer to us. Im am impressed with that too.

Obviously I cannot rate on the other cordless ones mentioned, which I have not tried.

The only thing I know about the Gtech is our dog's ears go up when the advert starts, then he runs to the TV when the dog appears

tried one before, bought the Bosch which has more power, lasts longer and runs quieter.

I can recommend Miele if you don't mind a cylinder vacuum rather than an upright. We had a Dyson previously and the Miele is much better in my opinion. Had it about 8 years now and no trouble.

they are currently advertised on tv, GTECH they think best thing since sliced bread according to their ads

I've got a Panasonic bagless upright. It was the heaviest I could find so I reckon it must be well built.

I have a couple of henry hoovers and a hetty all free and lasting YEARS

We've had two Dysons, first one was unbeatable. Would pickup,everything and anything off any surface. When it went bang, 14 years old, no brainer. Buy another, utter crap, lasted less than 2 years. She bought a Vax to replace it, wow. Better than the first Dyson by miles. This ones picks up stuff you can't see, almost makes you embarrassed due to the amount of stuff it lifts out supposedly clean carpets

did anyone ever get conned with a Kirby cleaner kinell the price of them I had a hoover junior for years used to repair them at work and could nobble all the parts free and rebuild em

Thanks chaps. Need to do a bit of research by the looks of it. We'd like a cordless upright cleaner really. Due to the layout of our house and location of sockets a cylinder Hoover is always in the way.
