It's great to finally have some negative posts about the Portamig - I suspect Simon (like me) is fed up with all the sycophantic stuff that has gone on up until now and is overreacting. Nobody can possibly be perfect and I'll bet it's the same for welders.

Amen, It would be nice for a few of us with industrial set's to have a go on one for a day or two for a proper test...I dont think it'l happen tho'.
And Daz it was a maestro, van actualy...If you want to see british engineering at its all time low, then that's the one for the history book's, Leylands were just crap, all of em, mind you if you worked badly for 2 days a week like them lads im sure your work would be shoody..

A couple of faulty wheels... due to damage in transit... a dodgy earth lead connection... because of an Alan screw that wasn't as tight as it should be
Feckin hell... a car the thick end of 30 grand has had numerous problems within 3 months of purchase! & I know of a fella with a 60 grand Merc that wouldn't touch another!!
