Excellent idea! I'll give it a go.Might be a silly suggestion...but could you take the bath panel off, then you can poke around for the studs without causing visible damage...depends how much room there is under the bath.

Yes, there a shower in the ensuite but for some reason mum doesn't like using it. She often gets dizzy and loses her balance. My mum was given one of those bath chair lifts by an over eager nhs ot. She tried to use it once, felt very unstable and never used it again.
Instead we fitted a large walk in shower and put a chair in it and she loves it.
Is there a shower in the ensuite?
That's why when I re-vamped our bungalow 22 years ago I constructed a big fully tanked wet room with a 1200 x 1200 no step , floor drain a metre wide by the entrance three walled shower area that is wheel chair accessible with four strategically placed stainless steel grab handles and a portable ( renewable ) sitting chair with arm rests .This weekend I was chatting to a mate ...he's fitting one of those walk in baths. Basically it's a sit down bath with an access door.
His argument was that in 10-15 years it will be needed so he'd rather fit it properly himself now!
Also glad you got it sorted...You've done a good job there sir so well done.
When I bought our place as a dooer upper my Mrs has some health problems, so we decided to keep the down stairs bedrooms, and knocked them into one big bedroom, with a newly built ensuite. All doors are wheel chair friendly, with easy access shower. Basically single storey living if we need it.That's why when I re-vamped our bungalow 22 years ago I constructed a big fully tanked wet room with a 1200 x 1200 no step , floor drain a metre wide by the entrance three walled shower area that is wheel chair accessible with four strategically placed stainless steel grab handles and a portable ( renewable ) sitting chair with arm rests .
I 'm so pleased I did it , for 20 months ago at the time , totally out of the blue my lass was suddenly overwhelmed with " level 6.5 plus, non remitting progressive MS" and has to be helped & watched over when showering or in the wet room for any reason .
Next problem, mum can't pull this connector apart to charge the battery pack. I may see if I can make a tool to help her release the connector.
