Infact, if you do not comply with the ebay requirements they do not make your listings visible to the eu buyers.

I have been selling worldwide for more than four years. They have not asked me to provide anything but my advert details, nor have I been informed of any future requirement either.

I'm under the impression that I can still be the 'responsible person'
My 'representative' just needs to be a real person with a physical presence within the eu.

The GSPR introduces new requirements in areas such as traceability to ensure transparency and product safety. These include:

• That businesses selling into the EU and Northern Ireland have a named point of contact on product safety (known as the ‘EU Responsible Person’)

I read that to be you need someone in the EU or NI.
Sellers in the EU (or NI) need one too, but they can do it themselves.

AFAIK my current products are covered by the fact that they're existing products, although I've not really been chasing sales for a while, so I think I've only sold two items into Europe this year.

It seems to be that nobody has been discussing GPSR prior to the last week or so.
Certainly I was totally unaware of it until I seen an Instagram post from a retailer I've used in the past, who've suspended all EU sales until they figure out what is needed, so I suspect they've only recently found out about it as well.
At least with IOSS, everybody seemed to know about it happening.

Maybe it's dependent on the category(s) you list in? (Or have you not created a listing since the 13th?)

Creating a listing on my account gives me new/extra options to upload various product documentation.

May also be worth logging out, changing your location, and checking all your items are visible to Europe

My listings have not changed substantially for years, just the odd version number edit.

I seem to be visible as I recently sold one to a Danish customer.

This only applied from yesterday!

It would make prefect sense that ebay would allow existing listings to continue exactly as they are and only request information for new listings.

Maybe just make sure the 'quantities' on the existing listings remain adequate enough that the listing never ends!

I noticed on something I was requested to buy by my sister for my niece that it had a label on it designating both an EC representative and also a UK onone.

I would like to bring to your attention (the thread readers) that I am aware of a CE scam whereby you use a web site to register and you get certification. The reason I know about it was because a company I worked with was getting CE labels printed together with serial numbers. The excuse they used was the manufacturer had "forgotten" to fit labels as a lot of their heat pressed were not sold in the UK.

Anyway be aware these sites exist and they could also be preparing to do similar if named persons are needed etc under these new rules.

You do realise that you can self certify for CE compliance and marking, neither of which require any form of registration?

There were other strange anomalies. But self certifying was applicable to manufacturer not imported. Bur I don't wish to digress the thread (although it may well be applicable to people reading in here) so I will just leave this link. https://europa.eu/youreurope/busine...king indicates that a,then marketed in the EU.
