Norton still make all the parts for them. The lead screw is about £800 new. I often look at that thread and think how the hell did they machine it...and as you say the thread in the body must of been a serious challenge. Yes I think it is an Nespresso. The one the Mrs is looking at is £300 I believe.I wonder how those threads are (Were, does anyone still make them?) cut. The way it thins out at the end makes a single point cutter on a lathe seem unlikely, plus, what lathe can cut such a coarse thread! Perhaps on a universal mill in a similar fashion to a helical gear? The internal thread would be even more of a challenge, imagine a flypress on a lathe faceplate.
This coffee pod thing isn't a Nespresso by any chance? We'd just got one and it's awesome.
