Thatll be a tad extreme under a floor. But if you want waterproof tactical torch is the way to go.

Lowest power level would be fine. Max power might be a tad over kill unless it’s a huge floor your under!

nice and bright and is magnetic also some have a good hanging point on them

Another vote for Led Lenser, I have one or their head torches & it is great quality and the adjustable intensity & adjustable focus means you can see anything near & far. Charges via usb but if the batteries ever run out (I only managed it once after a very long day!) you can use standard aaa's.

I bought a couple of those Bluepoint lights winchman was selling, fitted some new batteries and they have been amaziing. Super tough and I use them all the time. USB chargeable is a bonus. The magnet is so strong I've been on a test drive found it still stuck on the chassis when I got back. If someone had said buy a £90 torch before I got these I would have laughed but I'd have no issues buying one of them new now.

I bought a Snap On light last week that is magnetic but also fits on a headband so can be used as a head torch. USB C recharge port. Cost about £40

@Kayos why not get a torch that uses the same batteries as your power tools? We have a couple of 10.8v and an 18v Dewalt torches and they sit by the back/front door and get used every day especially in the winter. Batteries last ages.

I use the makita led torches a lot. Enough light last ages use battery power tools do so can just swap battery when it’s done. And they last ages

That's very similar to the Rofis, that also has a magnet in the tail cap and the rotating head looks flush/of a better design in my opinion.

Blf a6 is a fantastic torch for only 16quid! 1000lumens so will be more than bright enough for your needs, used an abused mine and if it dies id buy another in a heartbeat as it owes me nothing!

That's an 18650 cell torch?
Will both types of 18650 batteries work in this??

For those that don't know, some 18650 cells don't have a positive 'nipple', they are just flat topped, just like the negative end.

Something to consider if you already have a supply of one style of battery.

Just buy flattop batteries and stick a wee round magnet on the end of a battery to get the nipple. That’s my plan from now on. Fed up having the two types of 18650 batteries

yeah you can use flat top and button tops, can take pics later if you like, you can also buy a different tube for about 99p that allows you to use 16340s and still get 1000lumens and its tiny, great for popping in toolbox or pocket just incase you need some light.

just had another suggestion that i overlooked as i use it mainly as a backup caving headtorch, fenix hm50, about 30quid, pops out of the silicone headband mount and then you have a small 16340 torch that is plenty bright enough, ( i find myself using it all the time going into attics and cellars etc) also has a usb b charger port if you dont have a decent battery charger already. i put a little clip on mine (was again about 99p) so i can clip it onto pockets and straps etc.

LEDs have made a huge difference as have better batteries
