Glowplug removal joy.

I still have a "pearl catcher" flexy rod thingy with a plunger at the handle end, that when you push it, out reaches 4 little metal finger wires popping out the other,then they clasp around whatever they are near. Relevant because it doesnt care if the part is magnetic or not like the magnet versions do.

It's all down to the limited access available. Id guess the injector opening is around 4mm so may not fit and if it does, it certianly won't fit with the claws gripping something.

I think endescope and small magnet first and if that doesnt work after 30 mins start taking head off.

Yes I dont think I'd be trying to fish out a commplete injector tip through a hole thats the size of what it was stuck in previously with a tool or not. It'd be the perfect mechanical monkey paw trap.
Mentioning it just so people know you can still buy such things. And in a range of sizes. I've got a range of sizes for small mechanical work. And in the house I have some so small you can use them to attach probes to tiny surface mount IC's legs under a microscope to do naughty things to them in-circuit. I still have the big bendy thing with magnet version, and a 3mm or so pocket one for fine stuff...

Ive got to that age when I spot myself trying to find some cunning and devious way to avoid doing something like taking off a head, or removing a front subframe etc, and I give it a quick try but limit myself to 30 minutes of cunning furtling time and if that doesnt work, I just take the thing off like its supposed to be taken off before I take 2 days being cunning to do a hours job.
I think I'd be tempted to spend that 30 minutes by taking the most appropriate valve spring off the cylinder and seeing if I could fish it out like that as someone suggested though. I mean, if your taking the head off after anyway if it doesnt work, your already have a start to be replacing the stem seals that came with the gasket set right?

Engine on a stand is the game changer, wish you would of told us ..thats it, head off and do it right...mornings work and do the swirl flap delete while your in there

Will be the last resort, but there really are other things I should be doing

Not as easy as that ......... Well it is, but normally ends up with mission creep.

Then there is the couple of hundred quid for gaskets, bolts, and whatever else is ******** up while doing it, timing tools etc. which ATM I don't want to afford, as its not at all urgent.

I need to be concentrating on getting this mobile and out of the hole, so I can get on with more digging, steelwork, and concrete laying for the house build before the weather turns again
Waiting for parts and the expense is crippling me ATM.

I have one of those, but I think it is too big to go through the injector hole.
