and you cant say i didnt realise it was that dangerous officer because its on the fail sheet

and if it passes with advisories, they are on the same certificate so you can't "accidently" lose it when selling the car

I doubt it, otherwise every man and his dog would be driving around without TAX, as they would back date it if caught, to avoid any fine.

The online system requires the vehicle to have valid MOT and insurance on the day the tax starts or it won't let you proceed. It's not possible AFAIK to back-date tax.

Arguably then, I should have been able to tax the bike as it was insured and the MOT expired 1st May... so it should have let me take a new tax disc.
I'm sure in the good old days when the Post Office clerk surveyed your documents, they wouldn't issue tax if there wasn't at least a good few days (7 days?) MOT and insurance still remaining on the 1st day of the tax disc.

used to be 14 days left on insurance or post office would not let you retax
not sure on the mot at the time i think the only one i taxed with a short test had over three weeds on test left,
just do it online it will either say yes or no
