Sorted my sloppy gearchange and lack of reverse gate with a little adjustment, I’ve also purchased a full compliment of linkage bushes etc from Heritage to improve it even more. Also got myself a set of Wolfsburg branded baby moon hubcaps and stainless headlight surrounds and fitted them today. I know it’s not a German bay but I don’t care, I like em, and with the shiny paint I’m made up. My steel wheels from Gertie are identical to the ones on Fleur so they’re currently off being powder coated white. Once they’re back and shod in new rubber the bumpers and roof rack are off to powder.

Cheers guys. I know it’s cheating with Gertie sitting unloved in the garage but Fleur gives us instant gratification.
Gert’ will be a long while even if I didn’t have the ongoing Cooper project.
As an aside I want Fleur off the drive and out of the elements to slow the dreaded tin worm, so I’ve acquired a corner of a unit of a friend as storage, so the old girl needs to have a quick check over and reattach the steering arms and maybe the column before getting her wheels refitted and I can clear a space. What I’ll do with an empty space on the drive I’m not sure!

Trustworthy is a good description. 
The T5 has been working hard transporting all our stuff out of the storage unit into the new garage. Was going to attempt to shift the lathe, mill and a couple of other machines today, but the loading dock at the facility was blocked by someone's caravan. A couple of friends, one with a lift gate truck, and I are going to try again on Wednesday. Although a small one, its nice to finally have a garage.

Cheers, appreciate the thought. I can sympathise with you regarding back pain. I fell off our house roof when I was a kid and landed on a root sticking out of the grass lawn. Have had occasional reoccurring issues with my back ever since. All you can do is take it easy, and hope you can get some of the family to worship you until you recover.

Wow, almost 2 years since my last post.
Got the bus back from my mates following its mot and a bit of welding as I CBA lying on my back in the lane behind the house T o get it done. Much easier for him on his lift.
Paint looking tired once again. Knocked it back again in preparation for Busfest next week up in Malvern. Still got to do the other side. I also need to get some top coat on the epoxy primer.
Couple of before and after pics show the difference. Still got to cut out the rear hatch panel to get rid of the hole! That rust was caused by the PO sticking duct tape over a rust spot and painting over it!!!
These Brazilian VWs aren’t made to the same standards though. The metal is like paper!

I can take the bus, it’s road legal. The fact I’ve just mopped it may play into my hands as it’s clean and without any fade.
I had them do a spectrum analyser on it last time and they found a close colour which was Chrysler PMA Bloodshot, but it’s a tad darker. I have a litre here and if I was doing a blend it may be close enough but to me, it’s not right.
