Gen set 8/300 no output

See if I can get a photo tonight. Mine had a Honda gd410 engine on it. Sure I got the diodes from RS.

Hi where was the diod I can't find one on the bearing end

I'm sure I've seen some diodes that are stud mounted on a circular plate.

Cool the diagram only shows them next to the squirrel cage I spent £1400 on it last year brand new engine done les than 400 hours so I'm keen to fix it but may have to sell it as its beyond me now

Yep you are right I'm just getting very frustrated the capasuters have tested up ok once I got the corect values IV flashed them with 12 v no good so I recon it's windings or diodes

the only real way to test a capacitor is with a meter with capacitance test on it

do you have a wiring diagram ? without it people are just stabbing in the dark

Carbons photo is the same as mine the diodes are behind that. It was a while ago but there was at least 2 missing.

If you get in touch with genset Italy they will send a manual out. Mine is an old machine but they sent one as a PDF and told me what to check.

Yes IV tested the capasitores they are in range IV a uf meater unfortunately I can not get the wiring manul to upload IV got it in PDF ON MY PHONE BUT can not send it to my pictures ?

In the bottom photo there appears to be a couple of loose wires (unless you have taken them off for testing purposes) and some of the terminal posts look a little corroded. I would go round looking for bad connections, loose wires, etc first. If you do take wires off, put tape you can write on to identify where they go. Drawing a diagram as you go helps too.

True, it all helps. I forgot to mention the photos.

The loos wires have always been there IV put 1500 hours on it like this and IV had all the terminals off to test and tightened them all back on with a tuch of petroleum gel the nuts and straps have some corrosion but only on the outside all connections are sound thanks

No weld output but power, duff output diodes. No weld output, no power, duff excitation capacitors or duff diodes in the rotor. Simple.

Looks like it would weld like a bag of crap, no tapped output reactor, no field excitation adjustment. How do you adjust the output current?
