Do you think building up the broken teeth with hard facing rods the getting the teeth recut would work
My thoughts also, Going to be more expensive to have machinedGood find Ashley. Certainly looks like the same part. For less than £15 delivered too.
What sort of machine do you need to cut gearsThis was my first attempt at gear cutting a few years ago for my table saw. The plastic one was chewed up.

I used a single point cutter that I made from scrap and a broken tap ground to the correct profile.

So every thing I want but don't have
IIt's not plastic. It's a properly engineered tough resin with published mechanical properties. It's used in full size machines.
Why are your gears wearing so rapidly?
Incorrectly meshed? You have to have the right gap. Too tight or far apart don't give great life expectancy from my experiences.I
I don't know
If someone could do that it would doWhy not machine all the teeth off the hubs, make up the gears as ring gears then shrink fit/furnace braze the new gears to the original hubs ? The originals must be some sort of casting to be brittle enough to lose the teeth in the first place, steel gears may well be a better job. Just thoughts.
