christ thats major infestation there must be a fair few of em coming in i only need a few blocks putting down in the sheds and by second bating there gone

One my cats used to catch worms ! We kept on finding them on kitchen floor (either window or door open). Then one day we saw him "hunting" them in the garden and pulling one out of the ground before proudly bringing it to us.

One of our cats started off bringing worms in the house when he was little more than a kitten, he's since moved onto bigger & better prey, initally birds & mice and then as he got older rabbits & moles. Now he's 10 and getting lazy and hardly catches anything anymore.

Might be good news chaps, not had any mouse poison eaten for the last two days. They were still getting in and out of the so called trap with apparent ease, I think it must have been the little tray of neat anti-freeze that i provided in case they got thursty that finally saw them off. fingers crossed.

Sounds like our recently passed away moggie, Brian. I thought it was just him that caught moles !!

We have a feral cat that comes to the back door for his twice daily rations. I often see him checking out mole hills out in the back forty. 'er Inside would like him to be a member of the family, trouble is, he doesn't do 'nice'. Feeding him is a high risk game, as he is just as likely to lacerate your hand as accept the food. Interestingly, he is a small, average sort in the summer, but has a huge fluffy coat in the winter. Quite leonine right now. I should get a good price for the pelt...

Always thought mole tasted a bit sour. So perhaps it is just the chase.

Ours never actually ate mole either, but was partial to mice or voles.

I did find out moles get proper angry when they are released in your bedroom at 2 in the morning.

Neither did mine, I'd just find them lying on their backs without a mark on them, how he killed them and left no marks I don't know. We nicknamed him 'the ginger ninja' because of this.

Slightly off topic but fox cubs play with moles but don't appear to eat them either. They must taste bad or something

I used the cheap plastic traps that tilt over and close behind the mouse, worked every time. I went soft on them and let them out in the countryside, in a field that red kites hunt over.

I've used those as well, generally to catch mice that our cat let go in the house and then forgot about!! They do work well

Well guys, Very little or no further poison been taken. I'm leaning towards the anti-freeze as being the ultimate mouse killer. Will certainly leave a small supply just incase they return,

The anti-freeze is just the long life good quality one, Its looks like a red/orange liquid, I put about an eggcup full neat in a small plastic 3" x 4" tray.
