Garage mice

Mice seem to love my garage as much as i do, I have not found any evidence apart from they keep eating the blue poisoned grain as if its ice cream, visited Brightspark a few weeks ago and he recommended some waxy all weather blocks made by a firm called "BIG CHEESE", anyway they love those too, I rang big cheese and they sent me a sample, of pink poisoned pasta based stuff, Guess what they love that too, Rang big cheese again and they recommended trying one of their traps. Bought one of those. the catch em alive type but i baited it with the poisoned pasta, Guess what again, for the last 4 days they are getting in and eating the poison then getting out again, Im baffled. The trap will hold 4 mice and has a seesaw/drawbridge type of thing at the entrance tunnel, Once they are in the seesaw tilts up to block any escape and if they do try to pull the seesaw down a flap pops up to block the very entrance, How on earth are they getting out,I'm totally baffled, Next step will be the good old fashioned spring traps, any ideas guys?

i was talking to the rodent guy from the councill about the amount of bait the mice were taking .he said the smell of the bait atracts them from all around u cant win. ive baited all around my buildings outside again a few times and seems to keep them at bay rather than put it inside

if it was rats down holes it would be propane and oxygen pumped in and detonated or the air rifle or live catch traps and dog

empty milk bottle with a few seeds inside is my usual.........I get lots of mice in the garden sheds and the garage

Ihave a shed load of the all weather blocks now, will place some around the doorways outside, Its the clever little "devils" getting back out of the trap thats annoying me, Trap checked all over and everything working fine.

Sticky pad trap....its the only solution.

This worked for me when I found a mouse in the shed. Put traps down with cheap crap chocolate in them, caught two in as many days and never saw another one again.

PS, don't use Nolan's seriously strong, it doesn't work;

borrow a ferret? used to shoot with a guy that had a real daft ferret, didnt have a clue what to do down rabbit hole but you put it on a room with a mouse and it was like the tazmanian devil on speed

Put a camera up and see how they do it.

if it was my product i would want to know exactly what they were doing. the only time i have ever tried to 'catch' mice i used a larce high walled plastic storage tub, few lengths of wood over the top so there was only a small hole to get into, a ramp of some sort to let the mice in and bait it with chocolate and raisins. they climb in freely but cant get out because they cant jump high enough, and even if they can jump, they cant get back through the small hole

i set a sesaw trap and mouse got out and it was still shut the little pin hole where they breath had been slightly nibbled and it escaped they can get through a hole less than half the size of a pencill

Itrs like buying a razor...its cheap but the blades will keep on costing you money,I suspect they will let you know about a better product if you keep in contact.

My next door neighbour in the other house I lived was being plaqued by the critters,she tried different traps,she thought I was pulling her leg when I said buy some sticky traps and put a bit of marsbar on it.....the last time i heard from her she has taken up tennis but she's not using a ball,seems she's using sticky pad mice.

She been shovling up the mice and flicking em over her backyard wall,god knows whos yard they're ending up in.

We had a problem with the occasional mouse in the loft so I was planning to buy one of these as poison wasn't working:

But as it was the mouse/mice problem stopped before I bought one.
It's a trap that electrocutes the mouse and lights up to indicate that it has killed.

Now BS the oxy & propane reminds me of a friend who saw a rat in the workshop it was an old building with wood paneling in offices above he shoved the oxy acetylene torch in the hole gave it a goooood squirt then lit the torch, don't know about the rat but it BU****ed the offices up stairs, he did not stay there long

Mate has the Screwfix one he does not rate it, he is a trap collector! I keep telling him he needs to get out more
