I looked at some tubular heaters ,they weren't that cheap to buy .....ended up with the halogen just for frost protection in the utility(washing machine)...halogen was £7.99 and 400w and 800w so i purchased at least as a stop gapthe cheapest in electric would be a couple of tubular heaters providing theres no draught .it will still be expensive to heat though they consume 100 watt per foot in length . so a 4foot would consume 400 watts and a 2foot 200 watts
A work mate and I have been discussing this matter and as an ex boating enthusiast he is going to install an Eberspacher heater in his workshop.
They run on diesel so filling it up with red derv won't be too expensive and they can be fitted with a frost stat and timer. Also, they produce a dry heat that can be ducted to specific areas.
