its a roundtuit you know how it is the one I just fitted in the garage is second hand I scored it on a db change

The last house I lived in still had cotton-covered twin cores run on ceramic insulators along the garage wall, feeding round Bakelite switches and round-pin sockets... and it still worked, at least as late as 2001!

The DB here at Wedg1e Villas came out of a council flat in Leicester after one of my ex's bought it from the local authority. There were no spare ways for the electric shower and alarm system I fitted for her so needed a new DB.
I stripped the ceramic-fused DB out here and put the ex-flat one with resettable breakers in instead
The whole shebang has its own breaker on the house's DB which also has an RCD, so I should be okay while designing this new plug-in armchair for my mother

plenty here 24 ways all knacked took a hell of a lot of sorting out and every wire had to be cut back and extended have a look if u can be bothered to open the fileand u cant just walk away

yep no one knows what caused it the insurance company sent a specialist to investigate . all circuits were correctly fused and all through rcd protection and it happened at 5 in the morning when hardly anything was on .there was a powercut that morning because I phoned the board up to get them out to cut the supply and they texed me later to say. I said nowt and left it at that nowt to do with me so let em get on with it

if the current metal db s were fitted that wouldn't have been half as bad. I recon it must have started before the 2 - 12 way db s burnt out but why no load on at that time in morning and there was a power cut. the lines to the house are overhead so who knows

Funny how inexplicable things happen with electrics. A couple of years ago I was on a job where the drop chain for the temporary lights (110v, 5a trip) drew current from somewhere until it glowed bright yellow and the links started to straighten out. They never found the cause of it but I suspect it was a welding return.

I got a pic of it on my works laptop, if I remember I'll post it up.
