My brothers dog once got a pheasant, he made a pie out of it.
The only time in my life I've eaten pheasant, it was genuinely excellent.
Most Wednesday and Sundays round here is kill anything which does or doesn't move. The french are fond of their shooting and appreciate game i would imagine. What the situation over there about getting shooting ?

Wild boar and deer plentiful.
If you join a clay pigeon shooting group you can have a six shot gun, don't know the terminology, and don't quote me too closely on this.
But if you're a farmer, you clearly own guns, as expected, occasional accidents, but none of the American bloodbaths you associate with arms ownership.
Any black powder cartridge guns or rifles, you don't even need a licence for. But they must stay at home, considered antiques.
That's about all I know.
That’s one clever dog!My brothers dog once got a pheasant, he made a pie out of it.

I’d be up for a lend of your gun if possible. Happy to pay for cartridges etcI'm a member of a club that I should go to more
Membership is £35 p/a
10 stand shoot, 100 clays is £26 for members - which I think is pretty ok given good / different stand challenges. (and its always more than 100 clays)
Slab of 250 cartridges at local gun shop is between £60-£70 for my level of point & puff.
I agree It does all add up a fair bit if doing regular..
I'd be up for a forum, shoot, I could lend a 12 O/U as well
Yes to all of that as long as it's a private land club, mine does but insists on a loosely delivered FOC "safety session" for new shooters - which is more about getting your eye inCan you "have a go" at clay shooting without having to buy a gun, cert, whatever else you may need?
Can't afford it at the moment but I'd definitely like to try it some day, looks like fun.

Not an issue, even happy to make food. I’ve done it few times for a couple of the local shoots.Yes to all of that as long as it's a private land club, mine does but insists on a loosely delivered FOC "safety session" for new shooters - which is more about getting your eye in
No problem, have a 28" and 30" - used to have a 32" broom handle, couldn't get on wit that.
Honestly - the food and beer after are the biggest costs![]()
