We use a company called D Turner & Son for machine moves. They are Manchester based, so probably a non-starter.
How much do you think it should cost ?£10k moving is a bit savage though!
If he can do the stripping down work himself and the hauliers just have to crane it on and deliver I would have thought under £5000 depending on distance etc.How much do you think it should cost ?
That's where the money is, the clock ticking while the riggers dis-assemble, and then re-assemble.If he can do the stripping down work himself and the hauliers just have to crane it on and deliver I would have thought under £5000 depending on distance etc.
That would be to provide a low loader and another lorry with a very big HIAB for lifting. Depends on weight though. The biggest HIABs go to about 90 ton/metre.
I've fitted a couple of 150 ton per meter cranes to 8 wheel tractor units .If he can do the stripping down work himself and the hauliers just have to crane it on and deliver I would have thought under £5000 depending on distance etc.

What is the hourly rate on those ?I've fitted a couple of 150 ton per meter cranes to 8 wheel tractor units .

Sweet Jesus, where do you start taking that apart?Went to look at the grinder this morning and pick up the two items I acquired.
These two gentleman kindly stood in to model the real world size of the machine.

Cross rail needs to come off as it’s 16’ long making road transport a no noLooks like there is an overhead crane to help.
Does the cross rail need to come off separate, or just the whole upper structure in one go ?
From the limited look around the machine and studying the photos i think we have to start by pulling the electrics out, so control console removed, separate control cabinet disconnected, labelling as we go, then remove all the way covers/concertina bellows, support the grinding heads with slings, unwire them, drop them off, then remove/uncouple motors for the beam traverse and raise, then supporting the beam either from above or more likely (without the crane) below, remove or uncouple the leadscrews.Sweet Jesus, where do you start taking that apart?
