I'm seriously considering an older r1 this time around...not bothered about the leant over riding position really, I'm sure I'll get used to it again

Not a laid bike at all, in fact a true hooligan bike. Loves to hoist the front wheel and kicks like a mule when ridden hard round corners

thats what i like about it...i only bought the bandit because it was known to be mental, plus the one i had had been fettled with...i dont knnow what had been done but it was a tiny bit slower than a standard bandit on acceleration but i got an indicated 168 out of it a few times...my fathers had been fettled the other way though, and would accelrate much quicker, but we could only ever get 140 out of it

That FZR looks well tasty, I just bought a 94 Honda Dommie for my next project, there are some real bargains out there. And, its got a carburettor -yeeeess.

Older cbrs feel so fat and lazy compared to the r1, and look outdated to hell nowadays. The only bandit ive ridden that bid consider mental was my mates turbo'd thing, awesome, but terrifying at the same time

i had a similar epiphany after riding my mates supermoto's but hink i need a 4 pot again first, but knowing me i will end up with 4 or 5 bikes here again.
the mrs hates being on bikes, although her only real experience is on my xjr400 which wasnt set up right anyway and felt even worse 2 up...she did say she wouldnt mind something like a harley or other comfy cruiser (and yes i know HD arent that comfy, ive ridden a few and hate them lol)

Go test ride an aprillia tuno.......for that vtwin fix.
I keep an xjr 1300 for two up use

As much as I like aprilia, the shonkiness of Italian build quality breaks it for me. Everyone I know with one has had electrical issues galore
