Thanks Erie Fred - I honestly never knew that. . So I assume if the tank does not come back displacing the original external volume once emptied of the the testing pressure , the integrity of the tank is considered to have "yielded" and therefore fails. Correct?

That's the way the company that did my tanks explained it to me.
They had a chart of all kinds of bottle "shapes" and what they are to do under pressure etc.

A friend of mine repairs a lot of small engines and his insurance company won't let him return consaws with an old blade fitted, if he refits a blade he's liable for it if anything goes wrong. He just tells people to remove the blade before dropping them in and notes on the invoice that it's returned with no blade.
Doesn't apply to chainsaws though for some reason

That is pretty normal - sending things back "stripped".

I do this - if someone does not want to proceed/pay for a repair of an item - I don't bother to put it back together. Why would I? Dead things have no value - even if assembled.

Yes no maybe.

Nothing special inside.
Service is top notch.
Design and features make for a nice user experience for the most.

Though they must have had an off day when they designed the kapex handle.

Cordless is all DeWalt.
Rest of the gear varies between metabo Hilti Makita Hitachi
Festool I only ever bought into the track saw. Nice to use but it was woefully underpowered for a 110v machine. My 54v dewalt saw wiped the floor with it.

It is not until recently I bought into a lot of battery tools - I am a mechanic - so went for Milwaukee - they do ratchets/impact wrenches in all sizes plus rubber boots for most things.

Previous to this - I mostly bought mains powertools for drills and grinders - as we were using air tools in workshop for most other stuff.

I bought Makita/Bosch/Dewalt - few Hilti big KG drills - even still got some old type ELU stuff at home for DIY house bashing. Got odd Hitachi thing which has been OK.

If you removed the blade from a cutting tool how is the repairer supposed to service it properly? In the case of the bandsaw a major part of the service would be to ensure that the blade was tracking properly & the guide bearings were not seized or worn, a very common issue. They could fit their own blade but that would mean carrying a spare blade for every saw they service!

In the case of a con saw, its impossible to tune them properly without a blade fitted.

I'd echo eLuSiVeMiTe. Yes, No, Maybe.

It is considered very top end, but a lot of that is down to the cult following that seems to surround it. It is very much an aspirational brand for high end woodworking.
Some of it is very good, very accurate, but not necessarily all that robust. Some of it is quite average. All of it is very expensive.

I don't think I met a chippy who uses it as their "daily driver" - most guys seem to keep it for "best" and use Dewalt or Makita for everyday use.

I reckon Milwaukee is probably the best choice for anybody that does more automotive work.
Mostly decent kit, usually on par or better than the snap-on cordless. Massive range. Cheaper too. I'm team green, but what I used of it, I liked.

My neighbour who's a very good carpenter / roofer has recently bought into red stuff. Uses a mixture of all to be fair because he's a farmer and never throws anything out.

Reason behind it was down to one tool - their framing nail gun. I've got almost exclusively red stuff as it started off with mechanics tools so made sense when I wanted a nail gun.

Whenever Tom was around and needed a framing nail gun mine mysteriously disappeared. Funny you could actually hear from several hundred yards away which one he was using. The key selling point was he said the Paslodes he has really don't like the 4" ring shank nails and always leave them proud. Even in the crappy stuff that passes for wood these days. The Milwaukee on the other hand needs to be dialed back to its minimum power and still sinks them in below the surface usually.

His mate who works with him complained it was heavier so was going to stick to the Paslodes. When I asked if the Milwaukee was heavier than the Paslode and a hammer he went very quiet...

7 years ago the only gasless nail gun on the market was yellow. That's how I ended up there.

7 years ago red wasn't as competitive on its selection either.
