I laid a base for a steel framed building a few years ago, that was basically a raft with the stanchion bases all cast in as one. The reobars for the pits dug for the stanchions were tied in with the raft reinforcing mesh. That was to building regs.
It’s worth spending time on the base and getting it laid out so that the side sheets of the building are tight against the side of the slab and that they sail past it by at least 100mm. With a bit of fannying about you can even cast in the bolts for the baseplates.
