It look like the Mercs were dead and buried up till qualifying. I was quite happy with the 123 order up to when Max's tyre went pop and whilst I don't like random acts like sudden deflation affecting results, unless they are pushing the limits. Then it's their own fault but it's my opinion the red bull is overall quicker than the Mercs and by Hamilton going ahead it would have ensured Red Bull need to push in the forthcoming races.
As it it is it's as you were BUT Merc is further back in the Constructors championship. Meaning they now NEED Bottas to get points.
All in all it's shaping up nicely.

you have hit the nail exactly they are entertainers. It is all a show for the T V who pay the bills.
What I find encouraging is they seem to be able to follow cars better.

Did I miss a post-race interview with Toto, or did it not happen? I suspect he didn't want to be put on the spot re Bottas's performance and Hamilton's inept desperation to be on the top step of the podium?

I read somewhere that Hamilton had inadvertently switched on some brake bias switch used in warm up laps at the restart which meant he had way too much braking at the front wheels when he arrived at the first corner.
That's what to was trying not to say in his interview. Lol
He was interviewed as Normal. Personally I would call it a mistake...Toto called it a finger problem. Lol But I don't really know if the switch was not moved back or was moved as Perez came across as Toto claimed . He was very vague though.

Bottas needs to talk to Nico Rosberg or maybe he already has. Nico had the right idea of retiring immediately after winning his championship as he knew he wouldn’t get equal treatment the following year.

or more to do with the fact it drained him so much, mentally and physically to actually beat hamilton
and even then he needed some a bit of luck too
not to discredit his performance, I miss rosberg in the merc. Would be nice to see George there next year, hopefully he can put up a better fight

I saw that interview and also saw the shot of Hamilton with smoke coming off of the front nearside tyre indicating that it was locked . Either the brakes were working or they weren't . Strange , look forward to the explanation.

Just reread you comment and you quoted that he had switched a bias switch but in his interview he said he had switched the break switch off. No mention of a bias . Perhaps he was still in shock during the interview and has had time to think about it. It admit it did seem strange to have a switch that could switch the brakes off.
