Have you ever had the tinned one from Sweden? They somehow can it so it rots (?) in the can. They don't open it till the can swells. Its foulRaw... (my 89 year old Father raves about rollmopps - onions and vinegar).
Very european thing - holland - finland - and the likes.

To be honest - I been thinking about building a "smoker" as a hobby.
I like smoked fish and smoked cheese.
My Russian Fitter - has a smoker and he smokes some of the brown river trout I catch sometimes.
Its rancid. I have a very poor state of smell. It makes me gag! My brother lives there and he claims to actually like it but he's weirdNo... I have heard about it - saw a program on the TV about it - it is the worst smell known to man - is it not?

Surstromming. It’s banned from some airlines, apparently doesn’t taste as bad as it smells! I was almost brave enough to try some last time I was in Sweden - but not quite that brave.Have you ever had the tinned one from Sweden? They somehow can it so it rots (?) in the can. Scallops: Fried in butter and served on Stornoway black pudding.
Damn right they are expensive, the boat and dive kit cost a fortune. Raw, and live, from the shell on the boat. Wonderful, but odd when they squirm as you bite them.

I am poor - I have to have black pudding with poached eggs and spinage.
