Flux core mig wire

I'm after advice for better quality brands of flux core wire.
I use a mig welder at work but bought myself a gasless one for use at home as it's only being used outside. So far I've only used the wire that came with the welder but looking for better quality and it's not something I know much about?

We have just got a roll of SIf gasless wire. Much much better than machine marts offering.

Yes, the SIF stuff is good as is Lincoln and the lidl was tidy.

I bought some INE wire last year and it seems fine. Just checked on Amazon and it's out of stock ...

I don't know what welder you have but my advice: if it's not a brilliant one (gasless-only ones are not great sometimes - I know I've got one! ), then only buy 0.8mm (0.030") size. Avoid the 0.9mm (0.035) size. It may seem like it's a tiny difference, but the welder may struggle to heat the larger size up.

Having said that, check your drive roller size (and contact tip sizes). If the roller is .8mm/0.030 - good. If it's 0.9mm/.035 and you cannot change them (maybe it's 0.8/.030 on the reverse side) you'll have to go with a size to match that.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I had a look for the lidl one but they don't appear to have it online at the minute so I don't know if they'll have any in store. I'll have a proper look at the SIF and Lincoln.

It's often down to what's available locally. I found a local engineering supplies place stocked Air Liquide Weld Team gasless which was like night and day compared to the Super Six I'd been stuck with before. If they stop stocking it, now way would I resort to using the SS again, I'd mail order some decent stuff.

Rumour has it, Ine Inetub is a great wire, but despite being made it italy, doesn't seem to be available much outside of the US retailers.

The GYS gasless wire is made in Italy, it might be decent... Only available in .9mm though

I'm running the Lidl stuff at present, pretty good. Not quite as wide a sweet spot when compared to the wire that came with the machine, that was smoother across a variety of voltages. The Lidl stuff doesn't seem to feed well in the parweld .8mm tips, it gets sticky when the tips are hot.

Thanks Eddie,

Maybe sounds about right from that.
I have a very small job to do thats really just tacking some stainless workbenches I got from a kitchen and now use in a garage.
I was going to buy a 0.5 kg reel of ss wire, but will need a reg and gas too.
Thats what prompted the question.
Will look out for a mini reg and then get a mini bottle.
