Hey everyone,
I received the welder and now I am looking for a roll of fluxcore. Im unsure if there is a particular type or size I'm looking for and would love to know what to get!
@eddie49 (sorry for the tag!)
Cheers, Luca
I'm pretty sure that your new machine will take a 5kg spool, with a diameter of 200mm / 8". However, you may want to limit yourself to 1kg spools until you find a brand that you, and the machine, like. As for wire type, I second what CJ has said, the Lincoln NR-211-MP wire is highly recommended. The wire diameter is .035" / 0.9mm. Your MIG probably was shipped with a feed roller and torch tip for 0.8mm; I find that my Uptime 160 inverter MIG runs 0.9mm gasless wire even with 0.8mm roller and tips.I'm unsure if there is a particular type or size I'm looking for

Only complaint is the live torch, just be careful where you put it
Yes, mine does too - or at least the last one (SIP MigMate 170) I used it with did, anyway - using the regular 0.8mm rollers.
Maybe I'm just assuming my current welder (Kemppi MinArcMig 200 (Evo?)) would be the same, as I can't actually recall using the Lincoln gas-less wire in it.
I had a vague memory of someone on here saying the live-torch welders (as in the older Wolf welders) were illegal, nowadays.
But it might just have been that they were saying that they ought to be outlawed!
All the Best,
CJ
