I got a flu jab because I'm old.
Last year I had one as well, and the second part of the shingles jab within a week of that, and I was f*cked for about four months afterwards. Now I'll have them individually, but never that close together

Headache gone but bad sore throat.

I remembered earlier.. about 3 years ago I had a cough and sore throat, felt like something stuck, really bad cough that couldnt stop., and I started to cough as hard as I could, a few times, it would go on for minutes, fed up with it.

Later while driving home, it started again, coughed again. A huge green solid lump of phlegm came up. Most discusting thing I have ever seen. Cough cured in an instant.

So back to now... I dont feel the need to cough but I am anyway! I want this gone!

Youngest son has it! He came home from work last night, looked terrible. Didn’t want any tea, not like him at all. Had a shower and went to bed, he was meant to be going to a job in Glasgow today. He’s been up all night at the toilet, we saw him briefly at 0500 going back to bed. He’s rough. He better b l o o d y keep it to himself

It's in 2 parts about 12 months apart, I've just had my second one.

Shingles nasty - my poor Mother had it twice (I thought you could only get it once like chickenpox)

Once you've had chickenpox, the virus stays within you for the rest of your life. If you are run down, immunocompromised etc the virus pops out of whichever nerve it's been dormant in and you have shingles.
You can't give shingles to someone, but you can give them chickenpox if they have never had chickenpox.
You can have shingles any number of times, once for me, so far.

Still got a cough here and 50% deafness, getting on for 5 weeks now. No meds taken and deffo no flu jabs in these trenchers, if everyone stopped taking flu jabs then this winter flu would not mutate into a monster variant...you cant beat it as it just grows stronger to combat the jabs. Flu used to be 5 days of southern comfort from the missus, now its at least a month

My wife has got shingles at the moment, she has had the jab, but is in an awful state, I hate to think what she would be like if not had the injection.

The jab I had was a one time event, I even double checked with my doctors surgery. I had shingles nearly 50 years ago, I certainly don’t want them again. My BILs brother had to give up driving and work as shingles damaged his eyesight

Not sure if mine was the same.
Because I take a drug that leaves me immunosuppressed. I needed a ‘dead’ vaccine in two parts about 5 weeks apart.
Before I could start this drug I had to have the Covid, flu, pneumonia and both shingle jabs along with a batch of blood tests.
The good part, apart from feeling a lot better, is that my fear of needles is now a thing of the past. Having flu and Covid in the same arm at the same time doesn’t bother me anymore.
The bad part is that I have a blood test and see a rheumatologist every three months. I am now afraid of being weighed while waiting to see her and told to eat less cake, burgers, etc and move more. I think to remedy this I may start wearing Cuban heels so that my height to weight ratio is better.
