I had it a few weeks back, my girlfriend had it last week, waa a real killer

We were going to get flu shots but every time we booked it one of us got ill so we didn't go :-(

i think ive had it but it reminds me of the covid 19 one same no energy and a stinky cough

this one had me for 24hrswith a stinky cough but was unable to sleep lieing down lungs full of crap had to sleep in a chair wrapped up for 2 weeks

Diagnosed a Infleunza A
Partner got it as well but then she went on to get a sinus infection followed by costochondritis.
A great time was had by all.
Yes we both had flu jabs which made the flu more like a bad cold.

There is a really nasty flu bug this year and it put most of our Men's Shed in bed for a few days. I stayed away until I had my Vaccines and I'm not going back til next week.

I am on day 5 too, struggling to get much sleep, easier to sleep sitting up in a chair than in bed. I had my flu and COVID vaccines a month ago.

Avoided it so far but been unable to get a vaccine, either through docs or paying

Mrs gets hers free at work

Have some in person meetings next week so will probably come home with it

3 weeks now ive had it..came back worse a week ago with sore joints and migrain..my ankles in the morning takes 30 mins to get moving, plus ive gone 50% deaf

Had something all week - not sure if just a cold , flu or chest infection -been dosed up on paracetamol/Lemsip Max etc Chesty cough, sore throat, bunged up and very tired I thought improving Weds but worse yesterday though feel a bit better today......word in the pharmacy here is it lasts about ten days

MrsG started a cold last Saturday so I was counting the days until I caught it.
New Years eve for what it's worth.

Luckily I seem to have escaped the cough she had with it.

My wife works in the local hospital, they are all wearing masks again due to the risk of getting flu. So far she’s been fine but more folk are coming in with it.

I wonder why Tamiflu is not used more ?

The trouble is you have to start treatment within 48 hours.
Is it flu or a cold? By the time you know it's more than a cold, it's too late.
Getting a doctor's appointment is often difficult within that time frame.
It can be bought, online, again takes too long.
In the UK we only pay a token amount for prescriptions, most on here are old farts who don't pay at all.
Tamiflu can be bought but not many will pay £30 just in case.

as we live in a blame culture, I think we should blame Sir Frank Whittle for inventing the 'jet' engine and allowing flu and covid to spread internationally.

Touch wood I had it over Christmas. Started as couple of days before with a funny tummy then earache. Haven't had earache since I was a kid. Progressed to joint aches, shivering, runny nose and lots of phlegm. Slept a lot and ate for England. Lemsip was the saviour tbh.

Been a little up and down this week. Still just a tad snotty. Pretty sure the dust from the garage clear out is keeping it down and helping boost my immune system at the mo!

I've had a cough ever since contracting the covid plague several years ago. Cough every morning for a few minutes upon waking up, and then intermittently through the day. Scan's were taken of my lungs over a six month period without finding any physical cause.

I've had a cough ever since contracting the covid plague several years ago. Cough every morning for a few minutes upon waking up, and then intermittently through the day. Scan's were taken of my lungs over a six month period without finding any physical cause.

My doc prescribed me a steroid inhaler as a precaution over here when that happened to me post covid. The scans done later didnt show anything bad but the inhaler really seemed to help while getting a appointment and all the latency and it cleared up after a few more weeks of using it.

Right now my good lady is having a miserable holiday period, she broke a bone in her foot and did the two ankle ligaments 8 days before xmas when our young labrador went full steam train in the garden down a slope on a elastic long lead and she went AOT properly. After surviving being driven by me to the hospital she's been in a medical boot all holiday & son brought the flu back from uni with him & she has that, so its lemsip drinks, wrapped up on the sofa leg up in a big fluffy overcover.Meanwhile he's over it and did new years party at a event while she had to stay home foot in air just to add to her misery.
I had a flu jab, and I had a few days of sniffles and waking up with a dry mouth and stuff, but nothing as bad as her so far fingers crossed.

My missus and step-daughter got it pretty bad. I thought I'm dodged it then one day I started getting a tickle in my throat and a slight burn in my chest so I gargled with neat vodka 3 times in a day and it all went way.

I'm on day 4 and as said above it reminds me more about COVID than seasonal flu.
Headache, cough, violent and random fever, sweating like a sheep, appetite loss, extremely tired, little bit of nausea and diarrhea.
