Tonight's mistake! Fitted the amber warning light that will flash as the gate opens. The black ring is 3D printed PLA, primed and sprayed black. The actual flashing beacon is nigh on the depth of a brick. I didn't like that, looked far too "council gritter".

Probably shouldn't have stuck it in with CT1...bulb changing will be fun!

Why did I do that? Didn't have any cheap clear silicone, could have got some tomorrow...by the same token could have re-printed in black PETG...

Still, it looks nice and pleased with the sheen on the bricks and flints from where I sprayed the concrete sealer yesterday.

How long the PLA will last, who knows.

Was debating printing a set of rollers in black PETG rather than the white nylon ones that are there now. One issue though is a potential to hit your head as you come up underneath it...maybe leave the white so it catches your eye (not literally).

I was considering hitting the lanterns with a light dusting of silver paint, just to tone down the newness and give an antiqued, well, silver look.

Knew I should have bought that silver spray paint in Lidl the other day!

Thought it'd be cool to design and print, black PETG, custom covers for the brick lights to incorporate Celtic cross details. Almost like a fretwork. Then realised the print bed isn't big enough!

I need to make a "cover" for this bit of pvc pipe sunk in the ground. At the mo just covered by a random, circular paver. Eventually it'll be block paved. A 10mm thick disc of stainless would work with a shoulder cut on it.

The plastic pipe is 200mm OD, 192mm ID i.e a 4mm wall.

Anyone able to give me a price?

Believe it or not it all works, like via a remote key fob! Of course there's peripheral bits to finish off...

Got to have a word with next door & see if they'd mind me doing a criss-cross fence their side. The PIR lanterns need new PIRs. Mock hinges to make and fit. Infill panels either side and so on.

Need to come up with a plan for doing the sloping bit of the drive now. How deep a sub base, sub base of what, how to edge by the road, sleepers on edge up the sides maybe? Then block pave, concrete, tarmac etc etc?
