Hope it wasn't that lovely compressor?

I've done the same recently...prepped and etch primed followed by a brush on top coat (aluminium replica 1930s gutters). Decided to leave outside for a few weeks just to make sure the paint was stuck well.....it wasn't!

I'm wondering if aluminium needs special prep....pretty sure I looked it up and etch is meant to work!

It is indeed that compressor. The base which was aluminium has gone all wrong. The compressor body, steel is all fine.

It will need taking back to bare metal and doing again with etch primer

I think aluminium may need special care....my paint has just peeled off the gutters....it's very annoying.

Cooo. The old radio with two batteries in. Not seen them since the 60's.
