Hi everyone,I just need tips to improve , I cannot upload any pictures because I'm not allowed to shot any at work.
So they gave me a spare time project.
Stick welder wasn't operational so I've used a trasformer based Lastek 300 (Migatronic) machine
Gas was argon mix
The machine has
low and a high setting (0=off 1=low 2=high) for voltage
And a fine adjustment knob with 10 selections
I was on High 4
Separate wire feed unit on 4 or 5 meters pour minute .
1.2 mm ER70S6 wire
Arc sounded like I was keeping a too short of an arc or I was too low on the wire feed setting .
I've tried to change the "tip to work distance" experimenting short circuit (closest),kinda spray (in the middle) and globular transfer (while keeping the longest distance).
I've had troubles with porosity, I think because too far.
And had to cut the ball out of the end of wire many times (wire stuck on the contact tip)
But my welds were enough pretty .
Almost perpendicular torch angle drag move (otherwise I couldn't see anything).
Any advice maybe from someone who has or use the same unit.
Or just any general tip to improve using this process which I'm kinda liking it .
Thanks in advance.
