finding misplaced gear

couldn't find my tire inflator the other week so gave up looking. had another look 2day no joy decided to look for something else and the inflator turned up that seems to happen quite often when your not looking for something

I go out to the van to get something and forget what it was or come back with something entirely different its a good job I concentrate on my job or it would be time to hang me boots up

When I moved house I binned loads of gear and put the rest into storage, I then moved again ( for the last time ) now I'm looking for stuff I knew I had but now not sure if I binned it

Not only getting old.........an accumulation of more stuff and learning so many more things. There is also ..........memory shift

I blame being on autopilot half the time, some mundane tasks and the tools that go with them are used while you are thinking of other things. I may have been using the tyre inflater but was probably with Sharon Stone

I was hunting out a carb, then remembered that I'd sold it on ebay the year before.
Back on ebay and bought another after a few week searching.

I ask the missus if she has seen something im looking for she comes out with I know where it is where you last left it I say do you like hospital grub or you will be flossing your teeth through your bum with that answer

When I was an apprentice I lost a Snap-On pry bar, turned the workshop upside down looking for it. A year later a truck came in for a pre-MOT inspection, wedged in the chassis was my bar, where I’d left it when I inspected it the year before.

Doesn’t say much for the quality of our routine inspections though, someone should have spotted it long before!

I've posted this before, but I once lost a snap on vise grip, searched everywhere for it, it turned up a year later clamped on a nut underneath a customers car, I'd used it to stop a nut from spinning on a towbar I had fitted, the car had been all over Europe in that time and apart from being dirty the grip was fine, I still have it.
