When I was an apprentice I lost a Snap-On pry bar, turned the workshop upside down looking for it. A year later a truck came in for a pre-MOT inspection, wedged in the chassis was my bar, where I’d left it when I inspected it the year before.
Doesn’t say much for the quality of our routine inspections though, someone should have spotted it long before!

I was hunting out a carb, then remembered that I'd sold it on ebay the year before.
Back on ebay and bought another after a few week searching.
