I've got one of those micsig tablet scopes as reviewed by Mike Harrison, it's a seriously good but of kit and will easily do a full day on a charge.with CAN each of the two data lines (with no data traffic) sit at mid rail and the rail is 5V - so each data line N and P is +2.5V above a common return.
with 485 one line goes 0V to +5V and the other goes from 0V to -5V. In the jpg I was only looking at one of the two data lines.
That scope is borrowed from work, ( Ive an old LeCroy 300MHz, no protcol decode) the flash one sends emails! samples up to 5gig.
I could do more if I could get hold of a pedal to record traffic from pedal to welder.
I may try a guy in bedford who sells this stuff and has loan kit.
